Waghmart Activated Carbon is a specially processed granular filtration media designed for use in Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs) and Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs). It effectively removes organic compounds, color, chlorine, odor, and chemical impurities from wastewater. Sourced from high-grade coconut shell or coal-based raw material, our carbon media is activated under controlled conditions to achieve high surface area and excellent adsorption capacity, making it ideal for use in industrial wastewater filtration systems.
Waghmart’s Filtration Carbon Media is available in granular or pelletized form and is suitable for use in activated carbon filters (ACF) in a wide range of industries. With iodine values ranging from 600–1100 mg/g, it delivers consistent filtration performance and longer life cycles.
High Adsorption Capacity – Efficient removal of odor, chlorine, and organic pollutants
Iodine Value: 900–1100 mg/g – Indicates excellent surface area and purity
Dust-Free Processing – Pre-washed, low ash, and minimal fines
pH-Neutral & Non-Toxic – Safe for environmental applications
Custom Mesh Sizes – Available in 4x8, 6x12, 8x30, 12x40 mesh
Coconut Shell & Coal-Based Options – Based on application needs
Longer Lifespan – High strength and regenerable in select applications
Choose the Right Mesh Size
– Based on flow rate, application, and treatment goals (commonly 8x30 or 12x40)
Clean the Filter Unit
– Ensure the activated carbon chamber is clean and dry
Load Carbon Evenly
– Fill to recommended bed height with care to avoid dust inhalation
Initial Backwash or Rinse
– Flush with clean water to remove loose fines
Start Filtration Process
– Run as per design specifications; monitor pressure drop and performance
Monitor & Replace Periodically
– Replace when breakthrough of odor/color or pressure drop is observed
